The president of MLS side Inter Miami has revealed that his side are considering moves for both Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez, having already secured the signings of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.

Jorge Mas, Inter Miami’s president has confirmed that the club are considering moves for ex-Barcelona stars Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez.

The club has already secured the signatures of two former La Blaugrana stars in the form of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, whilst former Barca manager Gerardo Martino has been unveiled as the MLS side’s new head-coach.

Both Alba and Suarez played together for the Catalan club between 2014 and 2020, and have also lined up alongside Messi and Busquets.

Mas revealed the club’s interest in the iconic Barca pair speaking to news outlet El Pais over the weekend.

“Two or three more players will come,” he said.

“We spoke with Jordi Alba — while Luis Suarez has a contract and a release clause. I don’t know if that will happen or not.

“All the announcements will be made before 15 July.”

Inter Miami will be able to secure the signing of Alba on a free transfer, after the defender’s Barcelona contract came to an end last month.

A fee will likely be required to sign Suarez however, as the Uruguayan is currently contracted to Brazilian side Gremio.

If the moves are finalised, the former Barcelona quartet may be able to line up together in the United States for the first time on July 21, with that being the date tipped for Messi to make his debut in the MLS.
