Impervious Mares’ Chase Odds
The penultimate race on Day 4 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway at 4.50pm in the form of the Mares’ Chase, two races after the Gold Cup. One of the standout horses in that race is the Ciaran Murphy-trained Impervious, who is unbeaten over fences. The Irish racing trainer will be hopeful of one of his star mares claiming victory here for the first time at the Cheltenham Festival.
Ciaran Murphy trains the joint betting favourite in the Mares’ Chase – Impervious.
The 7-year-old gelding currently sits at odds of around 2/1 with the best horse racing betting sites. Impervious has won her last three starts in a row, with all of them coming over the bigger fences. She won her chase debut at Wexford, before following that up with another chase win at Cork in December.
Her latest run was yet another chase win at Punchestown in January, where she kept up her 100% win rate over fences. If she can replicate that kind of form here at Cheltenham on Friday, she will be extremely difficult to stop in the Mares’ Chase.
The Irish mare aims to win her first Cheltenham Festival race on her second appearance around the famous racecourse. It comes as absolutely no surprise to see her amongst the betting favourites here for the Mare’s Chase.
She looks like she is a really strong horse and definitely has what it takes to win here. Jockey Brian Hayes will be hoping for a win here aboard Impervious in the Mares’ Chase.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Impervious’ odds could well shorten as the Mares’ Chase approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market and how soft the ground is, Impervious could even go off as the outright favourite ahead of Allegorie De Vassy.
The Henry De Bromhead-trained Magic Daze and Willie Mullins-trained Allegorie De Vassy look to be Impervious’ biggest threats here. He will have to run his best race if he is to claim victory here for the first time around the Cheltenham track.
