Following Manchester United’s thrilling 3-3 draw vs Galatasaray on Wednesday, how can the Red Devils qualify from the Champions League knockout stage from here?
How Can Manchester United Qualify For The Champions League Knockout Stage?
After five games played in Group A, United sit rock-bottom in fourth and look set to drop out of Europe entirely – unless a number of results go their way elsewhere.
If Copenhagen beat Bayern Munich on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena, United’s fate will be confirmed and they will no longer be able to reach the Round of 16.
In that case, the Red Devils are still able to sneak third in Group A if United beat Bayern on Matchday 6 and Copenhagen beat Galatasaray.
If Bayern beat Copenhagen, United will be level on points with the Danish outfit – who currently hold the tiebreaker over United on goal difference.
The best case scenario for Erik ten Hag‘s side is Copenhagen losing to Bayern and drawing with Galatasaray – but United would have to beat Bayern to secure second place.
The Champions League continues to deliver some of the greatest entertainment in football.

A wild game in Turkey saw United cruise to a 2-0 lead after 18 minutes thanks to strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, but another goalkeeping error from Andre Onana saw Hakim Ziyech’s free-kick sneak in before the break.
Scott McTominay restored a two-goal advantage for the visitors shortly after the restart, but as they frequently do, United crumbled under the pressure and conceded another from Ziyech before Kerem Akturkoglu’s wonderstrike stole a point for the hosts.
“What on earth is the Man Utd goalkeeper doing there?!” 😳
André Onana will not want to watch that one back as Hakim Ziyech’s set-piece pulls another one back for Galatasaray!#UCL pic.twitter.com/o0R7vzaCdO
