Why will horse racing NAP of the Day Eric Bloodaxe win?

Despite switching trainers from Joseph O’Brien to Gordon Elliott, ERIC BLOODAXE will take all the beating on his reappearance at Fairyhouse today. A very smart bumper horse, this seven-year-old Gigginstown House Stud owned gelding progressed to land a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Limerick over last Christmas.

Sent off the 11/8 favourite by the best UK betting sites that day, Eric Bloodaxe delivered in similarly soft and heavy conditions that he faces here. Although the son of Saint Des Saints didn’t fire at the Dublin Racing Festival or Cheltenham, he got right back on track when a gallant runner-up here over further during Easter.

Horse racing NAP of the day for 8 November 2022

Eric Bloodaxe ran an absolute belter under top-weight with only subsequent Punchestown Festival runner-up Bugs Moran, who he gave 11lb to, proving 1 3/4 lengths too good. New handler Elliott took this race 12 months ago with Queens Brook, so in-form stable jockey Jack Kennedy now takes the ride for the first time.

On the pick of his form, Eric Bloodaxe should win this small field conditions contest hands down. Underfoot conditions are no problem and he’s gone well fresh before. He just had to be the horse racing NAP of the Day for 8 November at odds against. A £10 punt on Eric Bloodaxe with 888Sport returns £22 if he makes a winning return to action.

Boombawn NB bet back in handicap company at Huntingdon

Recent form and horse racing results posted by BOOMBAWN read very well and give him strong claims of following-up on just his second crack in a handicap at Huntingdon. All six of trainer Dan Skelton’s runners at this venue have made the frame this season so far, with two scoring. That gives Boombawn’s handler a 33 per cent strike rate at this track.

After landing a couple of minor events at Southwell and Ffos Las, this five-year-old Dylan Thomas gelding chased home Knappers Hill at Sandown Park races on the final day of last season. The winner has since gone in twice this term, taking the Chepstow Silver Trophy and Grade 2 Elite Hurdle at Wincanton over the weekend.

NB to our horse racing NAP of the day for 8 November 2022 is Boombawn

Boombawn went one better on reappearance in a small-field Listed novice hurdle at Kempton. The penny dropped with horse racing betting sites eventually and they returned him odds-on, but he opened at a value price we advised punters to take. Boombawn bested subsequent wide-margin Fontwell winner Teddy Blue by three-quarters of a length.

With the runner-up bolting up off 129, the same mark as Boombawn, he looks well-treated for this return to handicap company. It’s for that reason he’s NB to our horse racing NAP of the Day, Eric Bloodaxe, at a terrific 100/30 with 888Sport here.
