Hewick Odds For King George VI Chase 2023

The Irish-trained HEWICK will be running in the King George VI Chase at Kempton for the first time, but he’s no stranger to strutting his stuff in the UK.

He’s won twice at Sandown Park, including when taking the 2022 bet365 Gold Cup, plus racing fans will also remember him running well in last season’ Cheltenham Gold Cup until falling late on.

Hewick has also an American Grand National, which is actually run over hurdles (only in America!) when taking the Fair Hills race in 2022.

He was last seen running down the field in the Galway Plate back in early August and has been freshened up for this by his shrewd trainer John Joseph Hanlon.

Hewick was a bargain-buy at just €850 back in 2017 but has gone onto amass £470k heading into the 2023 King George.

If successful, Hewick would become only the second Irish-trained King George winner since 2006, with the most recent Tornado Flyer for Willie Mullins in 2021.
