Former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Tottenham forward Harry Kane “has to leave” the club this summer, following their exit from the Champions League last night.

Antonio Conte was on the end of another poor result yesterday evening, as his Tottenham side crashed out of the Champions League thanks to a 1-0 aggregate defeat against AC Milan.

The match ended 0-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the damage had been done in the first-leg.

Brahim Diaz‘ goal at the San Siro was enough to separate both sides, as Spurs exited the competition at the round-of-16.

This has seen calls for Conte to be sacked, with the Italian now being the favourite in the next Premier League manager to be sacked odds.

Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Frank have all been linked with the job in north London.

Conte may not be the only one on the way out however.

Harry Kane’s future was already up in the air, but now with what looks to be another trophyless season, could we see the England captain finally make the move away?

This is exactly what former Aston Villa forward Gabby Agbonlahor has said he should be doing.

Agbonlahor Kane Comments

Speaking on talkSPORT following Spurs’ exit from Europe, Agbonlahor spoke about the state of the club, and Kane’s future.

“I had a rant on Saturday and I feel like everything I said was right,” Agbonlahor said.

“Spurs fans, they want to win a trophy and you rest your best player against Sheffield United, it just doesn’t make sense,

“You see the Beyonce concert that sold out, you see the boxing fights there [Tottenham Hotspur Stadium] – yes it’s good revenue for the club, but Spurs fans couldn’t care less about that,

“They want to see trophies, they want to see Harry Kane sign a new deal because Spurs are going in the right direction.”

Spurs are currently fourth in the Premier League table. Agbonlahor however, doesn’t think they’ll finish in the top four.

“Spurs for me won’t finish in the top four,

“Liverpool, now, will go on a run for me. They’ll take confidence from the weekend and they [Spurs] will miss out on top four. They’re gonna miss out on the Champions League.

“Harry Kane has got to leave in the summer, and if he doesn’t and he signs a new deal, you’ve got to question Harry Kane,

“If I’m him I’m going to Manchester United, I get to break Alan Shearer’s record by staying in the Premier League.

“He has to go.”
