Head of News for SportsLens, Lee Astley, said: “Just 116 minutes of game time for Harry Maguire so far this season is perhaps the best reflection of his fall from his grace.

“Removed as club captain in favour of Bruno Fernandes prior to the season’s start, the England international will more than likely be rueing his decision to remain put at Manchester United over the summer.

“Just as it looked as if West Ham had provided the perfect clean slate for Maguire with a £40million offer, his insistence on battling back his starting place at Old Trafford ultimately put a spanner in the works. Nevertheless, he may be forced into a re-think come January, particularly with the Hammers four points above them in the Premier League.

“Elsewhere, a deadline day deal for Filip Kostic also failed to materialise, but our exclusive odds suggest the Frankfurt winger is still well within their transfer plans. So too PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, who was highly sought after by clubs across Europe in the summer.

“Long-term target Youssef En-Nesyri, Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy – who has netted 10 goals in six appearances this season – are all being touted as potential striking targets come January.”
