Tottenham were knocked out of the Champions League on Wednesday night by AC Milan who came out on top 1-0 on aggregate over the two legs, which left Harry Kane clearly frustrated post match.

Cristian Romero saw red after picking up two cautions just before the 80th minute as Spurs were dumped out of Europe by AC Milan after a 0-0 draw.

Harry Kane was understandably frustrated at the full time whistle and it isn’t a shock as Spurs now only have domestic success to focus on this season.

“Where we’re at as a club, we should be winning trophies. That’s always the aim.

“The top four [being our only target] is a consequence of not playing as well as we want to play. Now that’s all we can fight for so that’s going to be the goal and hopefully we can achieve that come the end of the season.

“But for sure, it’s not enough for this club.”

Tottenham are currently fourth in the Premier League but Liverpool are a huge threat to their Champions League spot, just three points behind Spurs with a game in hand.

“Top four [alone] is not good enough for anyone at this club, especially the fans. They have the right to voice their opinion.

“The last week especially just hasn’t been good enough. Before the Sheffield United game, the season could have been a whole lot different.”

“We’re trying, we’re training but we’re just lacking something. We’ve talked about mentality before and that ruthless hunger to be better, to be the best, to be one of the best teams in Europe.

“We just haven’t quite found that yet.”

With Spurs enduring yet another disappointing season, could it be time for Kane to move on? Manchester United are favourites to sign Tottenham’s talisman before next season and Old Trafford could be the 29-year old’s next destination.
