Galvin Cross Country Chase Odds
The fifth race on Day 2 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway with the Cross Country Chase at 4.10pm. One of the standout horses in that race is the Gordon Elliott trained Galvin. The Irish racing trainer will be hopeful of one of his star horses claiming victory here for the second time at the Cheltenham Festival.
Gordon Elliott trains the current second betting favourite in the Cross Country Chase – Galvin.
The 9-year-old gelding currently sits at odds of around 5/2 with the best horse racing betting sites. Galvin has won at Cheltenham before, triumphing in the National Hunt Challenge Cup Novices’ Chase back in 2021. If he can replicate that form here at Cheltenham again this year, he has every chance of picking up his second Festival triumph.
The French gelding aims to claim his second Cheltenham win over the fences and looks like he could pose a huge threat to the favourite Delta Work. He is amongst the betting favourites for a reason – he is a brilliant horse.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Galvin’s odds could well shorten as the Cross Country Chase race approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market he could even go off at a similar price as the current favourite and his stablemate – Delta Work.
Stablemate Delta Work will undoubtedly be Galvin’s biggest threats, along with the Willie Mullins-trained Franco De Port.
Elliott’s 9-year-old is certainly one of the biggest names in the race and an eye-catching horse here. He has every chance of picking up yet another Festival win here in the highly anticipated Glenfarclas Chase on Day 2 at Cheltenham this year.
