Fulham and Lazio are set to battle it out for the signature of wantaway Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi according to football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Callum Hudson-Odoi is almost certainly set to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, with one of Lazio or Fulham currently looking to be his most likely destination.

A product of the Cobham Academy, Hudson-Odoi’s departure will bring a 16-year spell with Chelsea to an end.

The Blues are reportedly wanting his exit to be a permanent one too, having spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Lazio are in advanced talks to sign him, however Fulham remain very keen on signing him.

“Marco Silva’s decision to stay could also change Callum Hudson-Odoi future” Romano tweeted.

“Lazio, in advanced talks to sign him — but Fulham have always been keen on signing him… and will resume contacts for CHO as Silva’s staying.

“Chelsea want it done asap — and on permanent deal.”

There are plenty of factors for the 22-year-old to consider in his decision with the opportunity to reunite with former boss Maurizio Sarri in the Serie A, as well as the attractive prospect of remaining in West London with The Cottagers.

Sarri brought Hudson-Odoi into the first-team fold at Stamford Bridge back in 2018/19, in what would likely be considered his most successful spell in the senior game.

Not only has the winger been linked with moves to Lazio and Fulham during the transfer window, but to Nottingham Forest and the Saudi Pro League too.

Those reports have cooled in recent weeks however, but it certainly wouldn’t have been a surprise seeing the ex-England international making the Saudi switch.

N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly have all swapped the Blues for Saudi Arabia in recent months, whilst Hakim Ziyech also remains subject to interest from the up-and-coming Middle Eastern league.
