The fourth race on Day 3 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway with the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle at 3.30pm. One of the standout horses in that race is the Gavin Cromwell-trained Flooring Porter. The Irish racing trainer will be hopeful of one of his star horses claiming victory here for the third time at Cheltenham and a hat-trick of wins in this race.

The Irish gelding aims to win his third Cheltenham race after triumphing last year in this race by two-and-three-quarter-lengths, and also back in 2021 by over three-lengths. He is a phenomenal horse and is understandably amongst the betting favourites here for the Stayers’ Hurdle.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Flooring Porter’s odds could well shorten as the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle race approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market he could go off a bit shorter than 3/1, given how well he has performed since switching to hurdles.
Blazing Khal could be Flooring Porter’s biggest threat in this one, along with the Gordon Elliott-trained Teahupoo and Joseph O’Brien-trained Home By The Lee. If Flooring Porter brings his best form here on Day 3 like we know he can, he has every chance here in the Stayers’ Hurdle.
Cromwell’s 8-year-old is certainly one of the biggest names in the race and an eye-catching horse here. He has every chance of claim his third Festival victory in the Stayers’ Hurdle on Day 3 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
