Chelsea & Arsenal Transfer News

According to Football Insider, Everton have reportedly placed a £70 million price tag on Belgian midfield sensation Amadou Onana.

The 21-year-old has been a diamond in the rough at Goodison Park this term, providing Toffees fans with hope in a time of trouble for the club.

This has seen interest in the youngster arise from some Premier League rivals. Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly the most interested in securing the Senegal-born midfielder’s signature.

His performances have seen him become a regular starter for Belgium, too. His most recent cap came against Germany, where he provided a stunning performance in a 3-2 win.

Despite the pair their interest, the London clubs are wary of Everton’s asking price.

Everton’s Premier League survival will play a huge factor in this transfer saga however. If the Toffees are relegated to the Championship, their asking price could well be shortened in order to guarantee a sale and raise funds.

The club have accepted that Onana will leave in the summer if their relegation is confirmed.

Sean Dyche’s side are currently in the drop-zone, level on points with 17th place Leeds United.

They are also going through some financial turmoil at the moment. In their latest finanacial report, the Toffees have recorded a £120.9 million loss.

So even with Premier League survival the club may be forced to sell Onana, who is likely their most prized asset.

Having joined in the summer from Lille for £33 million, the Merseyside club could be set to more than double that transfer fee with a sale to one of the Premier League‘s big boys this summer.
