Erling Haaland is set to win the PFA Player of the Year award in his first season in English football with Manchester City as he closes in on Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record.
According to the latest odds from Premier League betting sites, Haaland has the lead over Arsenal duo Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka going into the final weeks of the season.
Arsenal top the table with 73 points after 30 games played but Pep Guardiola’s side are in hot pursuit of the Gunners, who are aiming to secure a first title since the 2003/04 ‘Invincibles’ season.
City have a game in hand against Brighton and sit on 67 points after 29 games, with all eyes on the April 26 clash at the Etihad Stadium against Arsenal, which could likely decide who is crowned champions.

With 30 goals in 27 Premier League appearances, Haaland also leads the race for the Golden Boot ahead of Harry Kane (23), Ivan Toney (18), Marcus Rashford (15) and Gabriel Martinelli (14).
The Norwegian has averaged a goal every 73 minutes, scored 1.1 goals per game and significantly outperformed his xG of 21.16, marking one of the finest debut Premier League seasons in history.
It seems just a matter of time before the former Borussia Dortmund and RB Salzburg striker smashes Alan Shearer’s record of 34 goals in a single Premier League season, which has stood since the 1994/95 campaign.
Manchester City are also the new favourites to win the title after Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Easter Sunday despite trailing the league leaders by six points.
Martin Odegaard cost just £30m from Real Madrid which appears to be one of Arsenal’s smartest buys in recent years and the midfielder has repaid every penny so far, tallying ten goals and seven assists in the league.
Bukayo Saka is the only player in England’s top flight with double digit goals and assists, putting his name alongside Europe’s elite and demanding recognition as one of football’s best wingers.
Despite the race looking all but over at this current point with an implied probability of 78% to take home the award, there a chance an Arsenal player could nick it if they go on to win the title in May.
