Edwardstone Champion Chase Odds
The fourth race on Day 2 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway with the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 3.30pm. One of the standout horses in that race is the Alan King trained Edwardstone. The Scottish racing trainer will be hopeful of his star racehorse claiming victory on Day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival.
King trains the current joint betting favourite in the Queen Mother Champion Chase – Edwardstone.
The 9-year-old gelding currently sits at odds of around 7/4 with the best horse racing betting sites. Edwardstone has been in some indifferent form of late, but on his day is an absolute superstar and a tremendous horse.
He won at the Cheltenham Festival last year in this Arkle Novices’ Chase, so jockey Tom Cannon and trainer Alan King will be hopeful of going back-to-back here and winning their second Festival race.
Last time out, Edwardstone came second to Editeur Du Gite in the Clarence House Chase at Cheltenham in January. On that day, other joint favourite Energumene came third. Horse racing fans are incredibly excited at the porpostion of another battle between the three horse and are finding it tough to call who will come out on top this time in the Champion Chase.
Edwardstone certainly looks a strong horse and the one of the ones to beat here in the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Edwardstone’s odds could well shorten as the Champion Chase race approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market he could potentially go off as the solo betting favourite to claim his second win at the Cheltenham Festival.
The Willie Mullins-trained and Gary Moore-trained Editeur Du Gite could be Edwardstone’s biggest threats, along with another Mullins horse in Gentleman De Mee.
King’s 9-year-old is certainly one of the biggest names in the race and one of the most eye-catching horses running on Day 2. There is no doubting that he has every chance here in the Queen Mother Champion Chase on Wednesday afternoon.
