Edouard Mendy has agreed personal terms with Al Ahli and is set to become the latest Chelsea star to make the switch to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Mendy’s contract at Chelsea doesn’t expire until 2025, but the Blues have made it clear that they are willing to listen to offers this summer and it seems someone has already snapped up the shot-stopper.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Saudi side Al Ahli have already agreed personal terms with Mendy, who is set to sign until 2026.

Mendy will be 34 when his contract expires in 2026 and he will be joined by Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante who will also be playing in Saudi Arabia for Al Ittihad next season.

Although he was regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League just a couple of seasons ago, Mendy has fallen out of favour at Chelsea and is destined for a move away this summer.

The constant changes of manager may have paid a part in the downfall of Mendy at Stamford Bridge, as he played under Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard last season.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has appointed his fourth permanent manager in two seasons, but it seems Mauricio Pochettino will get a fresh start at the Blues this year.

After Chelsea struggled last season in the league, Pochettino appears to have made the decision to sign a new number one next year – with Kepa Arrizabalaga also reportedly on his way out.
