Willie Mullins To Be Top Trainer Chances
Willie Mullins is the leading Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer of all time. The Irishman has won the top trainer award in eight of the last ten years. He also trained 10 winners at last year’s festival, which was a new record.
Overall, Mullins has trained 88 winners at the Cheltenham Festival, more than any other trainer.
Mullins is the most successful trainer in history of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle (Tuesday), training the winner on seven occasions, including in five of the last 10.
He has four entries in the Supreme on Tuesday, and will look to kickstart the festival with a winner. Leading favourite Facile Vega is trained by Mullins, as well as Il Etait Temps, Diverge and Dark Raven.
The 68-year-old has also dominated the Close Brothers Mares Hurdle (also on Tuesday) over recent years, incredibly winning nine of the 15 runnings. He has Brandy Love, Echoes In Rain and Shewearsitwell running in the race this year.
