Darts sensation Luke Littler has responded to an invitation from WWE by sharing a throwback video of him attending a Wrestlemania show back in 2017.
Littler has experienced a whirlwind few weeks after the 16-year-old made major headlines during his historic run in the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship over the festive period.
His World Championship final with Luke Humphries was not only the most watched darts final in Sky’s broadcasting history but also the most watched non-football event.
Humphries secured a 7-4 victory, yet the spotlight in most media coverage shifted towards Littler for achieving the final at the remarkable age of 16.
The attention has now reached the world of WWE, as Littler recently revealed that his walk-out music, ‘Greenlight’ by Pitbull, was inspired by it being the theme song for Wrestlemania 33, which he attended when he was 10 years old.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1, Littler said, “It was from Wrestlemania 33, back in 2017. I went over [to Orlando, Florida] with my dad. It was unbelievable.”
This prompted the official WWE UK page on X to reach out to Littler:
Unbelievable run, @LuketheNuke180…
We heard #WrestleMania 33 inspired your entrance music on @BBCR1, so you’re officially invited to @TheO2 on April 19 when WWE rolls through London. We might even hit @Pitbull’s “Greenlight” for you! https://t.co/0u2cs5Rmd5
