Daniel Dubois is one of the future stars of the heavyweight division, of that there is no doubt. However, is the future now? ‘Dynamite’ is just 26-years-old, but is firmly in the conversation right now as a Top 10 heavyweight.
Despite losing for the second time in his career last time out against the great Oleksandr Usyk in his maiden world title challenge, Dubois still has the world at his feet. He is one of the biggest stars in the heavyweight division and is learning on the job as a young pro.
At the tender age of just 26, Daniel Dubois still has the best part of a decade or even longer to compete at world level at heavyweight. Not only that, but ‘DDD’ has the promotional hype-train of Frank Warren, Queensberry and TNT Sports behind him, hoping to guide him to the summit of the heavyweight division in the future.
Dubois is being tipped to take over the mantle as the best heavyweight from British shores, once the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua hang up their gloves for good in the coming years.
Prior to his next fight, Daniel Dubois boasts an impressive boxing record of 20 wins to just two defeats. Of these 20 wins, Dubois has secured 19 stoppage victories, with just one of his fights going the distance. The only man to go the distance with Daniel Dubois is seasoned veteran Kevin Johnson.

Daniel Dubois has fought for world honours just once, that Round 8 knockout defeat to Usyk in August 2023. Looking back at Dubois’ career from the beginning up until now, it is evident to see the sheer improvement and why he is widely regarded as one of the leasing heavyweights of the future.
‘Dynamite’ won his first eight fights via knockout, which included picking up the Southern Area and English Heavyweight Titles. His nineth fight is the only time Dubois has boxed the full scheduled distance, outpointing Kevin Johnson via shutout.
Dubois got back on the knockout streak after that fight, picking up both the Commonwealth and British Heavyweight Titles in the process. This included impressive wins over credible opponents such as Nathan Gorman, Richard Lartey, Ebenezer Tetteh and Kyotaro Fujimoto.
The first defeat of Dubois’ career came at the hands of fellow Brit Joe Joyce. Dubois vs Joyce went down in the main event on 28th November 2020, with the Commonwealth, British and European Heavyweight Titles on the line. Dubois was the favourite with the best boxing betting sites, but was stopped in the 10th round after suffering a broken orbital bone.
This well and truly halted the Daniel Dubois hype-train, with ‘The Juggernaut’ instead gathering momentum and moving towards the bigger fights and world honours. However, Dubois went back to the drawing board and bounced back seven months later with a two round demolition of Bogan Dinu.

Then came Dubois’ American debut, as he stopped Joe Cusumano in the very first round. Dubois’ next fight was once again in the United States, this time taking on Trevor Bryan for the WBA-Regular World Heavyweight Title. Dubois iced the American in four rounds, before successfully defending the WBA strap on the Fury vs Chisora 3 undercard against Kevin Lerena.
Then came the second defeat of his career last time out to Oleksandr Usyk. Dubois put up a brilliant fight, having moments in the bout and even knocking Usyk down. However, the knockdown was ruled a low-blow, which created huge amounts of controversy in the aftermath.
Dubois didn’t let the loss define him, bouncing back in emphatic style to knock Jarrell Miller out in Round 10 of their heavyweight bout on the Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin undercard. That takes us up to now in the professional boxing career of Daniel Dubois.
The 1997-born British heavyweight has the potential to go on a rule the roost at heavyweight for years to come. He is an extremely talented fighter as well as being a truly explosive knockout puncher.
