Dancing On Ice 2024: 12 Celebrities Take To The Rink For Series 16

After a break from presenting over the last three months, Holly Willoughby is back on our screens in January to take up her regular Dancing On Ice hosting role as the popular ITV Sunday night show skates into its 16 series.

Willoughby will be joined by new co-host Stephen Mulhern as he replaces Philip Schofield, who resigned from ITV in 2023 – but Mr ITV reliable is no stranger to the show having guest hosted it back in series 14.

As always, the Dancing On Ice action will start with twelve celebrities honing their skills on the rink, with a dedicated professional skater by their sides, in the bid to impress the judges that in 2024 will include show stalwarts Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, plus Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

Some of the stars lined-up to take part are a couple of former ‘jumpers’ in Greg Rutherford and Eddie The Eagle, while retired boxer Ricky Hatton will also be in action.

You can see the full Dancing On Ice class of 2024 below.

When Does Dancing On Ice Start?

Amber Davies is one of the betting favourites to win Dancing On Ice 2024.

“I would definitely say that I’m an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them”

MILES NAZAIRE (Age 27)
Skating Partner: Vanessa Bauer

Made In Chelsea star that joined that show in 2018 and was confirmed at the sixth celebrity to take part in Dancing On Ice 2024.

Nazaire has been installed as one of the Dancing On Ice betting favourites to go all the way and with skating partner Vanessa Bauer he’ll have every assistance.

Bauer has finished runner-up in four of the last five series, including last year with another silver partnering Joey Essex. She also won the show in 2018 with Jake Quickenden – meaning he’s got to the final two in a staggering five of the last six shows.

“I’ve always loved to dance but it’s usually on a dance floor on a Saturday night and Dancing on Ice looks so difficult.”

GREG RUTHERFORD (Age 36)
Skating Partner: Vanessa James

Olympian long jumper that won a long jump gold medal at London 2012 and featured in the famous ‘Super Saturday’ that saw Great Britain win a number of golds in one evening at those Olympics. Now retired as a track and field athlete and also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.

“I like a challenge and I needed a reason to go out and do stuff again and here we are. I want to perform something that’s never been done before, that’s my aim.”

RYAN THOMAS (Age 39)
Skating Partner: Amani Fancy

Former Coronation Street star who played Jason Grimshaw between 2000 and 2016. Thomas has also been on Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity MasterChef, while his brother Adam was seen in the most recent season of Strictly Come Dancing.

“Everyone keeps asking me, “are you doing it?” I’ve told everyone!”

LOU SANDERS (Age 37)
Skating Partner: Brendyn Hatfield

Sanders, who is a stand-up comedian and writer, was the eighth celebrity announced for Dancing On Ice 2024. She’s well known for appearing on popular comedy shows like Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

“I’m nervous about cracking my head open, or just bashing the old head. I can’t afford to lose any more brain cells.”

RICKY NORWOOD (Age 40)
Skating Partner: Annette Dytrt

Eastenders actor that played Fatboy in the hit BBC soap between 2010 and 2015, until being killed off. Norwood was the ninth Dancing On Ice celebrity to be announced.

“It’s come at such a great time in life. I can’t skate at all! No rehearsals as yet, I’ve just had some physiotherapy to strengthen the body.”

HANNAH SPEARRITT (Age 42)
Skating Partner: Andy Buchanan

One of the original members of S Club 7 and now an actor. Spearritt is best known for playing Abby Maitland in Primeval, plus has also appeared as Mercedes Christie in Casualty and Kandice Taylor in Eastenders. The singer/actor was the third celebrity announced for the show.

She had been due to appear on a previous series of Dancing On Ice, only to fall pregnant in the build-up which forced her to withdraw.

“I’m really excited about learning a new skill. It’s so easy to live your comfortable life and that aspect of mixing things up is very appealing.”

EDDIE EDWARDS (Age 60)
Skating Partner: Vicky Ogden

Well known former Olympic Ski-jumper that was drafted into Dancing On Ice 2024 after Googlebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb broke his ankle in training. Edwards will be the oldest contestant this year at 60 years-old.

ROXY SHAHIDI (Age 40)
Skating Partner: Sylvian Longchambon

“I can’t ice-skate. I haven’t really said anything to anyone but mainly because I’m so nervous about it!”

ADELE ROBERTS (Age 44)
Skating Partner: Mark Hanretty

DJ and British Broadcaster, Adele Roberts is best known for working on BBC Radio 1 and is no stranger to these types of shows, having also appeared on Big Brother and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019. Roberts has also recently been battling bowl cancer.

“It’s ”bricking it on ice” for me! I think the hardest part is putting myself out there as I usually hide away.”

CLAIRE SWEENEY (Age 52)
Skating Partner: Colin Grafton

Actor who is best known for playing Lindsey Corkshill in C4’s Brookside but has since ‘soap hopped’ over to Coronation Street as Cassie Plummer, the mother of Tyrone Dobbs. Sweeeney, who is the second oldest in the show, was the second 2024 Dancing On Ice celebrity to be confirmed, but is also one of the outsiders with the best online betting sites.

“I am stepping into the unknown here. I don’t know how I will feel. But I am very excited.”

RICKY HATTON (Age 44)
Skating Partner: Robin Johnstone

Former boxer who was the three-time light welterweight and welterweight world champion. He replaced the ‘ring’ with a ‘rink’ as a 2024 Dancing On Ice contestant and was the first celebrity to be confirmed on the ITV show. Hatton is, however, one of the early outsiders for the show and with that one of the likely favourites to be voted off early.

“If I can hold my nerve in the boxing ring I should be able to hold my nerve in the ice rink.”
