Conor Gallagher could be on the move yet again this Summer, and Newcastle have emerged as 3/1 favourites with most bookmakers to sign the Chelsea star before September.
After enjoying a successful season on loan at Crystal Palace last year, Gallagher made the return to his boyhood club Chelsea where he was finally given the chance he had waited for all his life.
Gallagher made his full Chelsea debut against Leeds late in August but after starting just his second match against Leicester at Stamford Bridge the following week, the young midfielder was shown a red for two first half yellow cards.
The Chelsea man is certainly no stranger to a caution and he has six yellow cards to his name in 21 Premier League appearances this season so far, as well as two in five in the Champions League.
Once Gallagher made his return from suspension he became a much more favoured face in the Chelsea squad, starting in all but two of the Blues’ remaining matches in all competitions before the World Cup, including all five Champions League fixtures under Graham Potter.
Gallagher’s first senior goal for Chelsea came in October and rather fittingly was against his former side Crystal Palace. The goal itself was a screamer, as Gallagher smashed the ball into the top corner to hand Chelsea a last minute win and the midfielder his first goal of the season.
With the new acquisitions Chelsea bought in January however, Gallagher is falling out of favour at Chelsea again and a move could be on the cards for the 23-year old this Summer with Newcastle emerging as the favourites to sign before September.
