In the latest Conor Gallagher transfer news, a report has confirmed that Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are interested in signing the midfielder from Chelsea.

Conor Gallagher enjoyed a successful loan spell with Crystal Palace last year, but has struggled to nail a regular starting spot for Chelsea since his return to Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher has appeared in 21 of Chelsea’s 24 Premier League games this term. However, 11 of the 21 appearances have come from the bench.

Reports have suggested that the 22-year-old may move on in the summer, with hopes of becoming a regular first team starter at a Premier League side.

The Evening Standard have reported that Chelsea may have to cash in on some homegrown talent to avoid FFP scrutiny. This could see Gallagher being shown the door at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder is believed to be of interest to Palace once again, but also to Carabao Cup finalists Newcastle.

Chelsea are believed to have put a £30m price tag on Gallagher, with Newcastle being the most likely to splash the cash on the Englishman.

Despite Newcastle being the more likely side to meet the Blues‘ pricetag, a move to Palace may be more suited. Gallagher made 34 Premier League appearances for the Eagles in 2021/22, netting on eight ocassions, whilst providing three assists. Could the familiar surroundings of Palace keep the midfielder in London?

Everton made an approach to sign Gallagher in January, but failed in their attempt. The Toffees are said to have bid upwards of £40m, but the four-time England international had no interest in the move.

Gallagher was part of the England World Cup squad in Qatar, but failed to make an appearance. A move for regular gametime may not only revive his career at club level, but at international level too.
