Tottenham Hotspur duo Ange Postecoglou and Heung-min Son have been named the Premier League’s manager and player of the month for September, as Spurs sit top of the table after eight games.

It’s a double swoop for Tottenham as Ange Postecoglou and Heung-min Son are named September’s Premier League manager and player of the month, with Postecoglou winning the award for a second successive month.

James Maddison was August’s Premier League Player of the Month too, which means that Spurs have won all four of the opening monthly awards in the English top flight for 2023/24.

Postecoglou becomes the first ever manager to win the award in their first two months in the competition, meanwhile Son earns the accolade for the fourth time in his career.

The awards are earned for another excellent month in the league where Tottenham gained 10 points from a possible 12, in a return that sees them sit top of the league for the first time since December 2020, with Son bagging six goals throughout the month.

Son opened his account for the season at the start of September with a hat-trick against Burnley, before notching his 150th goal for the club with a brace against Arsenal in the North London Derby.

He then scored the opener as Tottenham controversially beat Liverpool 2-1 at home, which sees him sit joint-second in the Premier League goalscoring charts with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak on six goals apiece, as Erling Haaland remains first with eight goals.

Postecoglou beat the likes of Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery, Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klopp to his award, whilst Son pipped Julian Alvarez, Jarrod Bowen, Pedro Neto, Mohamed Salah, Kieran Trippier and Ollie Watkins to win his.

Away on international duty with South Korea, Son sent a message to Spurs fans with his reaction to being voted Premier League Player of the Month.

“Hi everyone, it’s Sonny here. I am currently away with the Korea national team but I have just found out that I’ve been voted Premier League Player of the Month.

“Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who voted for me, and we want to keep up our good form. I can’t wait to see you all at our next game against Fulham. Come on you Spurs!”
