Chris Eubank Jr is one of the biggest names in British boxing circles. Aside from Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, it could be argued that ‘Next Gen’ is the biggest name in the UK. Not only is he famous for being the son of the great Chris Eubank, but he has well and truly made a name for himself entirely in his own right.

Chris Eubank Jr made his professional boxing debut back in November 2011, winning his first 18 fights before fighting for a title for the first time. Eubank faced Billy Joe Saunders in his 19th fight for the European, British & Commonwealth Middleweight Titles in November 2014.

The fight was nip and tuck, with Saunders getting the nod on the judges’ scorecards via split decision. Eubank had suffered the first defeat of his career, despite being the pre-fight favourite with the best new UK betting sites.

However, he bounced back in impressive fashion, winning his next eight fights. This includes picking up the WBA Interim World Middleweight Title and the British Middleweight Title, as well as the IBO World Super-Middleweight Title.

During that eight fight run, ‘Next Gen’ defeated some big names and quality fighters such as Dmitrii Chudinov, Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan, Nick Blackwell and Arthur Abraham to name but a few. Then came the second defeat of Eubank’s career, losing in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) to George Groves.

That was Eubank’s first shot at world honours, resulting in a unanimous decision defeat to the reigning world champion at 168-pounds. However, the Brighton man then bounced back once again, defeating the likes of former world champion and Olympic gold medallist James Degale, Matvey Korobov, JJ McDonagh and Liam Williams.

Then came the first Liam Smith fight in January 2023 earlier this year. Eubank was the pre-fight favourite with the best sports betting apps to defeat Smith, but was knocked out emphatically in the fourth round of their middleweight contest.
