Cheltenham Day Three ITV Racing Tips 1-2-3 Selections On Sunday
1:45pm – Cheltenham Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) Cl3 (4yo+) 2m4f ITV
SportsLens 1-2-3 Cheltenham Day Three ITV Racing Tips: RAILWAY HURRICANE would be the first eight-year-old winner of this race, and we think the gelding can do just that by going one better than last year and crossing the winning post in first place.
He faces a three-pound rise in the weights from last year, but the Gavin Cromwell trained bay is in good form and looks fully prepared for the task at hand. Jockey Sean Flanagan knows that if he can get away unhampered at the beginning, Railway Hurricane has every chance of winning.
He ticks a lot of the trends, as does the Jonjo O’Neill trained Crebilly. The six-year-old demands respect and looks a real force, but has interesting never ran over the Cheltenham fences before. Mr Saxobeat for Thomas Gibney looks like an interesting outside bet too, with Daryl Jacob in the saddle.
- RAILWAY HURRICANE
- CREBILLY
- MR SAXOBEAT
2:20pm – Jewson Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 3m3½f ITV
SportsLens 1-2-3 Cheltenham Day Three ITV Racing Tips: FLASH COLLONGES was in red hot form before falling at Ayr last time out. He returns today and looks to get back to winning ways at the first time of asking.
The Paul Nicholls trained French runner won impressively at Newbury before his fall, and looks to be suited to this slightly longer trip too. Could be a gamble given he fell last time out, with Nicky Henderson’s runner City Chief a horse that commands a lot of respect too.
He will certainly be there or there abouts, and we can see David Pipe’s runner First Lord De Cuet put in a big run too off 11-stone. A wide open race which presents a lot of value for horse racing bettors.
- FLASH COLLONGES
- CITY CHIEF
- FIRST LORD DE CUET
2:55pm – Shloer Chase (Registered As The Cheltenham Chase) (Grade 2) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m ITV
SportsLens 1-2-3 Cheltenham Day Three ITV Racing Tips: JONBON has never finished worse than second in his racing career, and is certainly the one to beat here in the Shloer Chase.
The Nicky Henderson-trained seven-year-old will be a warm order to come back with a bang, but will have to have his wits about him as he takes on the likes of Edwardstone, a former Arkle winner, and the two-time winner of this race Nube Negra, who looks to make it a hat-trick of Shloer Chase triumphs.
Just the four runners here, but is it difficult to see past Jonbon. Edwardstone is out of form, with the Dan Skelton Nube Negra also being pulled up on his last outing at Cheltenham Festival in March. Editeur Du Gite is the biggest outsider here with the best horse racing betting apps, and we see the French gelding going closest to beating Jonbon here.
- JONBON
- EDITEUR DU GITE
- EDWARDSTONE
3:30pm – Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (4yo+) 2m½f ITV
SportsLens 1-2-3 Cheltenham Day Three ITV Racing Tips: IBERICO LORD for Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville looks a really exciting proposition in this one as the second favourite.
The Willie Mullins-trained Onlyamatteroftime heads the market, but the gelding is seven-years-old and out of form, winning just two of his last 21 races. Iberico Lord on the other hand has won two of her five starts, including earlier this season at Stratford and a close second last time out at Sandown.
Lookaway for Neil King has won three on the bounce and is the form horse of the race, with the Dan Skelton-trained Knickerbockerglory another strong runner for the Skelton yard, who have won this race twice since 2016.
- IBERICO LORD
- LOOKAWAY
- KNICKERBCKERGLORY
