Chelsea transfer news this summer will more than likely be dominated by departures, and the club face a decision on whether to accept a cut-price deal for Armando Broja.

Chelsea hoped that a loan move to West London neighbours Fulham would boost Armando Broja’s confidence and inspire a feel-good factor that would bring back his top form.

However, Broja has not started a single game for Fulham and – more than that – barely gets a decent run out.

Chelsea were hoping the temporary deal would help prove he is worth £40-50million in the summer market. However, they are now facing up to the reality that interested clubs will not want to pay more than half that valuation.

Broja, 22, was left out of three Fulham squads completely recently and his last appearance was a five-minute cameo against Newcastle at the weekend, with his side 1-0 down. So far he has played a total of 52 minutes.

He is stuck behind Rodrigo Muniz, Fulham’s sudden first-choice striker, and his situation is now complicated by the return of Raul Jimenez as further competition.

Fulham will pay £4million for this loan spell but the future of Broja from this point on is up in the air.

Premier League clubs such as Wolves, West Ham and Crystal Palace have shown interest in a deal for Broja but insiders believe a £25million price-point is seeming the most realistic transfer fee Chelsea could hope for at the moment.

Chelsea are looking to cash in on homegrown talent to help with their financial situation and Broja’s predicament is going to be high on the agenda as soon as the season ends.

Elsewhere we also revealed that Conor Gallagher – who will be the most lucrative homegrown asset heading into the window – could also be set for a departure this summer with Chelsea teetering on the edge of a PSR debacle.
