Bayern Munich, who are on a desperate search for a new striker, have been handed the shortest price in the race for Juventus’ number nine, but the latest Dusan Vlahovic transfer news suggests Chelsea’s interest is more than concrete.

Chelsea have gone some way to recouping the astronomical £600m in cumulative transfer fees from last season, by offloading a total of six players. This will more than likely jump before the close of the summer, with Mason Mount’s imminent departure and Christian Pulisic also said to be on his way out.

This has allowed Todd Boehly and the sporting hierarchy to attack the market once more, and address the concerning lack of goals that plagued a dismal season last term.

The addition of blossoming Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson may not be the last name to be crossed off Chelsea’s striker shortlist this summer.

According to Italian outlet Corriere della Sera, the Blues have already approached Juventus with a £52m offer for Serbian target man Dusan Vlahovic, although the Italians were quick to rebuff what they perceive to be way below their estimations.

The club are reluctant to sell any of their key players following a string of turbulent seasons that have seem them fall out of contention for the league. However, Vlahovic has supposedly communicated his desire to leave, if a suitable proposal came his way.

The Old Lady paid just under £70m to bring him to the club in the winter of 2021, and any successful future suitors will more than likely have to surpass that figure.

New manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to value competition for the number nine spot – having both Jackson and Vlahovic, aged 22 and 23 respectively, could present a healthy battle for goals for the foreseeable future.
