After a bitterly disappointing season last season for Chelsea, they’ll hope that new manager Mauricio Pochettino can turn things around and see the side return to the force they were just a couple of seasons ago. The Blues have now made the journey over to North America for five friendlies, starting with League Two newcomers Wrexham, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. They will then face a number of fellow top flight clubs in the new Premier League summer series.
There has been plenty of transfer business going on at Cobham, with plenty of outgoings. Notable members of the squad who have left are Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
It is clear a rebuild is going on in West London with Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson joining to bolster Pochettino’s attack.
