Chelsea are reportedly in contact with Crystal Palace over a move for England international, Marc Guehi, following Wesley Fofana’s injury.

The Blues are now in the running to sign a central defender after Wesley Fofana’s recent ACL surgery and are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace star, Marc Guehi.

Following an impressive spell at Selhurst Park, where the 23-year-old made 82 appearances, the former Chelsea academy star could return to Stamford Bridge.

These performances have caught the attention of England manager, Gareth Southgate, who has made the Eagles defender a regular member in the national side.

Crystal Palace have suffered a huge loss in the summer window already, as long-time servant Wilfried Zaha left the club to join Turkish giants, Galatasaray.

A move for the Eagles defender could cost up to £40m, however, summer reinforcements are needed at Stamford Bridge following a host of exits and poor 2022-23 campaign.

Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and N’Golo Kante are just three of the players to leave the club, in what has been a huge summer clear-out.

This comes after the Blues had a catastrophic campaign, as they finished 12th in the Premier League and recorded the lowest points tally in the club’s history.

Former Brighton manager, Graham Potter, was hired in September and was sacked after just six-months following a poor run of results.

His replacement, Frank Lampard, was unable to improve life at Stamford Bridge and the Blues ended the season without a single victory over any side in the top six.

This poor performance has made summer signings a priority, as Chelsea are reportedly set to continue their huge spending that saw them bring in over £500m worth of players in the last two windows.

Guehi has three-years remaining on his current deal and joined Palace from Chelsea for around £20m meaning it may take a larger fee to pry him away from Selhurst Park.
