The Burnley vs Chelsea result on Saturday afternoon would have certainly lifted the spirits around Stamford Bridge as the West London side ran riot with a huge 4-1 win away from home.

Burnley Vs Chelsea Result:

Chelsea headed to Turf Moor in search of back-to-back wins for the first time this season, after they beat Fulham 2-0 last time out in a West London derby.

As for Burnley, they were looking to kick on after picking up their first Premier League win of the season against Luton Town on Tuesday night.

First Half

And it was indeed Vincent Kompany’s side that struck first. Wilson Odobert scored his first goal for the club with the side’s first shot of the game, sending Turf Moor into oblivion.

It was good work from Lyle Foster in the box to create the goal, and Burnley had the lead against the run of play.

However, Chelsea got one back to level the scores just before half-time. Raheem Sterling’s dangerous ball into the box came off Ameen Al-Dakhil resulting in an unfortunate own goal.

Second Half

The scores were level at half-time after the Blues dominated for most of the first 45 minutes.

And it didn’t take long for Chelsea to go in front, as Cole Palmer cooly converted a penalty on the 50th minute after Raheem Sterling was fouled just inside the box.

With one of his best performances for the club, Sterling was eventually rewarded with a goal of his own. The former Manchester City winger was slipped through by Conor Gallagher, and he made no mistake with a clinical finish to make it 3-1.

Chelsea were running riot at Turf Moor and things went from bad to worse for the home side. Summer signing Nicolas Jackson got in on the action with a terrific goal. Scoring his third goal of the season, Jackson topped off a positive afternoon for the Blues, taking a valuable three points back down south.

Burnley did work hard to try and get back into the game, but it was just not to be for Kompany’s side. Mauricio Pochettino’s men were too good on the day and the win sends them into the top half on goal difference.
