Brighton have kept their hopes of European football next year alive, after the Seagulls crushed Wolves 6-0 at home in a dominant display at the Amex.

It didn’t take the hosts long to get going on Saturday, as Deniz Undav netted his first Premier League goal of the season in the 7th minute with a finish on the end of a clever Danny Welbeck backheel.

The second for Brighton was a beautiful finish from Pascal Gross, who calmly curled the ball into the top corner after quick break from the hosts.

Gross grabbed his second of the game just ten minutes later, as the German smashed in another wonderful strike from a Julio Enciso ball just before the half hour mark.

Danny Welbeck made sure to get in on the act just before half time, as the Brighton striker nodded past Jose Sa at the back post to put the game to bed before the break.

Brighton showed no mercy to a weak Wolves side in the second half, as the hosts went on to win thanks to another goal each for Welbeck and Undav.

Welbeck’s goal came first for the hosts, as the 32-year-old swept the ball home into the bottom corner to get his second of the match and Brighton’s fifth.

Undav capped off a perfect performance from the Seagulls with his second late on, as a cheeky chip over Sa finished a comfortable win off for Brighton.

Although they are still in eighth place in the Premier League, the Seagulls still have a shot at a European finish this season and are now just two points away from Spurs in fifth.
