Brentford have seen their odds of finishing in the Premier League top six shortened to 14/1 following their west London derby win over Fulham this evening.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford have seen their European dream boosted this evening. The Bees ran out as 3-2 winners over west London rivals Fulham, thanks to goals from Ethan Pinnock, Ivan Toney and Mathias Jensen.

Brentford came into the tie in fantastic form. Frank’s men were without defeat in their last 11 Premier League matches prior to this evening’s fixture.

They came out of the blocks flying at the Brentford Community Stadium, dominating possession and creating plenty of chances in the early stages of the match.

After six minutes of constant pressure on the Fulham defence, Jamaican defender Ethan Pinnock opened the scoring. The 29-year-old’s deflected effort after a cleared corner smashed past Bernd Leno, leaving the German no chance.

Ivan Toney was at the center of some controversy around 30 minutes into the match, as he appeared to kick Sasa Lukic in the face. Despite it being a clear mistake, it didn’t stop calls for a red card on social media.

It was all Brentford for most of the remainder of the first-half as well, but for about three minutes of play.

A free-kick awarded to the visitors saw Andreas Pereira rattle the woodwork, but luckily for Fulham, Manor Solomon was on hand to head into the empty net.

The Israeli international has now scored in five successive matches under Marco Silva.

Toney was back at the forefront eight minutes into the second-half. He stepped up to take a penalty after a clumsy Issa Diop challenge on Mikel Damsgaard.

The Englishman made no mistake in slotting past Leno, keeping his 100% penalty record in-tact for the Bees.

Frank’s side held on for the remainder of the second-half, with Jensen netting a late third to secure a vital victory over their London rivals.

A late consolation goal for second-half substitute Carlos Vinicius saw the Cottagers’ deficit cut to just one goal.

Brentford now sit level on points with Brighton, and just one point behind Fulham, in ninth place.

The Bees are just three points off the top six, with Newcastle sitting in sixth on 41 points – three ahead of Brentford.
