Sacked Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is the bookies’ favourite to replace Tottenham Hotspur-bound Ange Postecoglou as Celtic boss and return to Glasgow.

Rodgers left Leicester by mutual consent after four years in charge in April as the club sat in the relegation zone, later finishing 18th and dropping down to the Championship.

The Irishman took charge of Celtic in 2016 and remained at Parkhead until February 2019. He led his side to an undefeated domestic season in his first year and won trebles in both of his first two seasons.

According to the latest odds from football betting sites, Rodgers is the 11/4 favourite to resume his former role at Celtic – who is also a boyhood fan of the club.

Next Celtic Manager Odds

  • Brendan Rodgers @ 11/4
  • David Moyes @ 5/2
  • John Kennedy @ 7/2
  • Graham Potter @ 14/1
  • Jesse Marsch @ 12/1
  • Kjetil Knutsen @ 12/1
  • Michael Carrick @ 20/1
  • Scott Brown @ 20/1

Amongst the other candidates are West Ham manager David Moyes, former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch and Graham Potter, who has been out of a job since being sacked by Chelsea earlier this season.

Celtic have now won two consecutive league titles and re-established themselves as Scotland’s biggest threat, with Rangers’ last triumph coming in 2021.

According to Matt Law, Postecoglou has agreed to become the next Spurs manager and will step into the role for the 2023/24 season.

The Greek-Australian manager, 57, wouldn’t discuss his future with the press after Celtic’s Scottish Cup final win over Inverness on Saturday.
