Bournemouth’s Premier League relegation odds have been priced at 1/3 after the Cherries were defeated 4-1 by Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon.
The Cherries came into this one off the back of a vital victory over Wolves, which saw them move out of the relegation zone.
It was a huge task today however, as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City made the journey down south to the Vitality Stadium.
A bonus for Bournemouth ahead of kick-off was that the visitors had decided to rest the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva – but of course the Citizens had more than capable replacements for the trio.
It didn’t take long for Guardiola’s men to stamp their authority on the game. The Cherries defended for their lives, but a rebounded Erling Haaland effort fell to the feet of Julian Alvarez who made no mistake in slotting home for the opener.

Haaland doubled the City advantage just 13 minutes later. The Norwegian turned home for his 27th Premier League goal of the season.

Gary O’Neil’s almost held on until half-time, but a misplaced pass from Phillip Billing allowed Phil Foden a free run in-on-goal. The Englishman took full advantage, smashing the ball past Neto into the top left-hand corner to mark his 200th Man City appearance in style.

The second-half was slightly better from the hosts, conceding just one, as well as putting one past Ederson.
Chris Mepham’s unfortunate own-goal made it 4-0 to City, before Jefferson Lerma pulled a late goal back for the Cherries.
O’Neil’s men are now 19th in the Premier League table – one point behind 17th place Leeds United, and are the bookies’ favourites to go down.
