Real Madrid’s Kepa Arrizabalaga has declared that England superstar Jude Bellingham is set to ‘mark an era’ at the club, surpassing the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Bellingham, who has ignited the Santiago Bernabeu with his scintillating performances, has racked up 11 goals and three assists in just 11 appearances. His remarkable goal tally outshines the eight goals each claimed by Haaland and Mbappe this season.

The young English midfielder is emerging as a prime contender for the coveted Pichichi Trophy. If his form continues, he might even vie for the European Golden Boot.

Goalkeeper Kepa bestowed gushing praise on his teammate, boldly ranking Bellingham’s quality over Haaland and Mbappe.

When asked by AS about Bellingham’s standing compared to the two prolific forwards, Kepa stated, “Right now, on a global level, I don’t know if I see anyone above Bellingham.”

He continued, “We are all seeing what he is capable of in each game. I hope it continues like this. He is a very mature boy, with clear ideas. And not only do we have to take him into account for the goals, but also for the defensive work he does and for the entire field he occupies. Bellingham will mark an era in Madrid.”

While Kepa lauded Bellingham, he acknowledged that Haaland is world-class and presents a formidable challenge. Kepa emphasised that containing Haaland requires collective effort.

“Haaland is a world-class player who makes a difference,” he noted. “Haaland must be tied short because, in addition to being very physically strong, he attacks spaces very well and in the area, he has a lot of goals. Marking him is not going to be a matter of just one person, but of everyone. To stop him, you need to do good team work.”

Bellingham may well be in action for England to face Australia in an international friendly on Friday. He will then return to Real Madrid to prepare for their next La Liga fixture against Sevilla.
