Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have reportedly listed Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay as a potential midfield target is they are unable to sign Fulham’s Joao Palhinha in January, after failing to sign him in the summer.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is drawing interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to The Mirror.

Their report claims that the Bavarians have drawn up a list of potential midfield transfer targets, with Scotland international McTominay featuring prominently in Thomas Tuchel’s list of most wanted players.

Of course, their main target is Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, whose move to Munich collapsed at the final stage on deadline day, and he has since penned a new deal at Craven Cottage until 2028 with an option for a further year.

It is expected that Bayern will revisit a move for Palhinha in January, but with a new contract in the mix – Fulham’s valuation of the Portuguese midfielder will have likely enlarged drastically, therefore a move for McTominay might be better suited for the German giants.

Throughout the summer transfer window it was speculated that McTominay would depart Old Trafford, with West Ham and Fulham being heavily tipped as potential destinations.

The 26-year-old has amassed just short of 150 appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League, a feat he should expect to achieve this season despite falling down the pecking order.

Sofyan Amrabat’s arrival hasn’t helped his case in the search for regular first team football either, and he has now started just once in United’s five opening matches of the season in the English top flight.

Thriving for Scotland on the international stage, a move away from his boyhood club could be exactly what McTominay needs in order to revitalise his club career.
