Banbridge Turners Novices’ Chase Odds

The first race on Day 3 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival gets underway with the Turners Novices’ Chase at 1.30pm. One of the standout horses in that race is the Joseph O’Brien trained Banbridge. The Irish racing trainer will be hopeful of one of his star horses claiming victory here for the second time at the Cheltenham Festival.

Joseph O’Brien trains the current second betting favourite in the Turners Novices’ Chase – Banbridge.

The 7-year-old gelding currently sits at odds of around 4/1 with the best horse racing betting sites. Banbridge is in great form, with two wins, a runner-up and third place finish in his last four racing starts. If he can replicate that form here at Cheltenham again this year, he will be extremely difficult to stop.

The Irish gelding aims to win his second Cheltenham Festival race after triumphing last year in the Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle. He is a phenomenal horse and is understandably amongst the betting favourites here for the Turners Novices’ Chase.

In terms of Cheltenham odds, Banbridge’s odds could well shorten as the Turners Novices’ Chase race approaches. Depending on the movement in the betting market he could go off a bit shorter than 4/1, depending on whether punters back Mighty Potter in or not.

Banbridge could be Mighty Potter’s biggest threat, along with the Willie Mullins-trained Appreciate It and Henderson-trained Balco Coastal. If Banbridge brings his best form here on Day 3, he could put it right up to Mighty Potter for sure.

O’Brien’s 7-year-old is certainly one of the biggest names in the race and an eye-catching horse here. He has every chance of claim his second Festival victory in the Turners Novices’ Chase on Day 3 of the 2023 Cheltenham Festival.
