On a day filled with dramatic late winners, Aston Villa scored three goals in the final minutes of the game to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Crystal Palace and secure a 3-1 victory at home.
After a goalless first half, Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring off a fabulous run and through ball from Jean-Philippe Mateta to record his fourth Premier League goal of the season – tied for second-most behind Erling Haaland.
With the clock ticking and Villa Park growing increasingly impatient, Lucas Digne’s cross was met by the chest of Jhon Duran before the the teenager fired home on the half-volley with a thunderous strike on the edge of the area to equalise.
Chris Richards made a poor tackle on Ollie Watkins inside the area in the 94th minute and following a lengthy VAR check, referee Darren England pointed to the spot and Douglas Luiz slotted home to give the hosts the lead.
In the 101st minute, Leon Bailey sealed the deal with a simple finish from close range to put the cherry on top of a hard-fought victory and bounce back in style from a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool before the international break.

According to Premier League betting sites, the Villans hold odds of 16/1 to finish in the top four and earn a place in next season’s Champions League competition and fight amongst Europe’s elite.
After a disappointing opening day thumping to Newcastle, Unai Emery’s side responded with consecutive victories against Everton and Burnley before a loss on Merseyside put a halt to their gathering momentum.
Villa have now won ten matches in a row at Villa Park in all competitions and look a completely different side to the one that sat near the relegation zone when Steven Gerrard was relieved of his duties last year.
They’re now back on track and in a promising groove ahead of their opening UEFA Conference League Group E fixture against Legia Warsaw next Thursday.
