Arsenal have seen their home fixture against Brighton in May has been rearranged to allow live television coverage of the fixture in the UK as Sky prepare for the title race to go down to the wire.

Premier League leaders Arsenal have seen their home tie against Brighton next month rearranged as Sky Sports prepare for the title race to go down to the wire.

Originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 13, the Gunners have now confirmed that the fixture has been switched to Sunday, May 14 with a 4.30pm kick-off.

Manchester City are due to play Everton at Goodison Park at 2pm on the same day, with live coverage of the Arsenal game to follow on Sky Sports.

The fixtures that weekend are due to be the 35th gameweek of the season, with just two more matches to follow after.

Arsenal could have the title wrapped up by then of course. This would require City failing to win several fixtures, as well as Mikel Arteta’s side winning every game.

The unlikeliness of this means the title race will likely go down to the wire, with many attributing the fixture date change to Sky preparing themselves for the title to be decided in the final few gameweeks of the season.

On their website, the Gunners released a statement in regards to the fixture change.

“The game against the Seagulls was originally due to take place on Saturday, May 13, but has now been switched to Sunday, May 14 with a 4.30pm kick-off, and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

“That means the only men’s first-team fixture this campaign that needs final confirmation is our following game when we head to Nottingham Forest, with an announcement on whether it’ll move due to be made on Friday, 14 April.”
