Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have reportedly slapped a £35million price tag on Folarin Balogun ahead of his rumoured Emirates departure this summer.

After an incredible campaign with Reims where he scored 21 Ligue 1 goals, it’s to little surprise that Folarin Balogun is being linked with some of Europe’s elite.

He had held hopes of returning to Arsenal and fighting for a starting position, but with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah already on the books, as well as the imminent arrival of Kai Havertz – the American looks unlikely to get a look-in.

This has put several European clubs on high alert, with interest from England, France, Italy and Germany all being reported over the last few weeks.

According to The Sun, RB Leipzig had held a strong interest in the Hale End product, but are now looking at alternatives. His strongest admirers are believed to be Crystal Palace, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

The report claims that Arsenal value Balogun at £35million following his stellar season in the French top-flight.

Balogun recently switched his international allegiance from England to the United States, and scored his first goal in the last international window.

In just his second appearance for the Stars and Stripes, the New York-born marksman grabbed the US’ second goal against Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League final, securing his first piece of silverware at senior level.

His likely Gunners departure this summer is set to be an emotional one, having been with the club since the age of seven. However, in terms of developing his career, an exit seems to be the wisest course of action.
