Arsenal are reportedly interested in making one of the most shocking transfers this summer, as the Gunners prepare a bid for Manchester City star, Julian Alvarez.
Mikel Arteta will deem the 2022-23 campaign as a successful season, that could have been a historic year, as the club competed in a title race for the first time in just under a decade.
Arteta’s side were top of the table for the majority of the season, boasting an eight-point lead over Manchester City in February. However, they were unable to maintain these performances and ended the season in second place.
Champions League football will return to the Emirates for the first time in seven years, meaning a list of summer additions could be on joining the north London side.
Declan Rice will join Arsenal after setting a new British transfer record of £105m and former Chelsea star, Kai Havertz, will also be playing under Mikel Arteta next season.
However, the Gunners are after an additional attacking option this summer and according to reports, Julian Alvarez is a shock contender to join the club.

The 2022 World Cup winner made 49 appearances for Manchester City in his opening season, scoring 17 and contributing with 5 assists.
His performances were key for Pep Guardiola’s side, as they went on to complete the illustrious treble – winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
A move elsewhere looks heavily unlikely this summer, as the Cityzens are set to lose a host of players in the coming weeks. Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker have both been linked with a move away from the Etihad – joining Ilkay Gundogan on the departure list.
Alvarez has five-years remaining on his current deal in Manchester, meaning any move this summer could cost up to £70m and a loan move could be the only viable option, but still unlikely.
