Arsenal are reportedly set to battle local rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, in the race to sign Leicester City star, Harvey Barnes, as the 25-year-old looks set to leave the Foxes this summer.

Mikel Arteta will deem the 2022-23 campaign as a successful season, that could have been a historic year, as the club competed in a title race for the first time in just under a decade.

Arteta’s side were top of the table for the majority of the season, boasting an eight-point lead over Manchester City in February. However, they were unable to maintain these performances and ended the season in second place.

Champions League football will return to the Emirates for the first time in seven years, meaning a list of summer additions could be on joining the north London side.

Declan Rice has been tipped to could be join the Gunners and according to reports, Harvey Barnes could also be on his way to the Emirates this summer.

The former West Brom player has made 187 appearances for Leicester City, scoring 45 goals and contributing to 32 assists – helping the club win the FA Cup in 2021.

However, the 2022-23 campaign was one to forget for both Barnes, and the Foxes, as the 2015-16 Premier League winners were relegated from England’s top-flight.

Long-time manager, Brendan Rodgers was made surplus to requirements following a run of poor performances and the club hired former Aston Villa coach, Dean Smith.

Smith was unable to maintain Leicester’s place in the Premier League and was not offered an extended deal at the King Power.

Any deal to sign Harvey Barnes could cost up to £5om, as the winger is under contract for another two-years and teammate, James Maddison, is also expected to leave the Foxes this season.
