Arsenal are already planning a blockbuster move for next summer’s transfer window, as the Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Brighton starlet Evan Ferguson in a deal worth £100m.

Evan Ferguson was one of the brightest breakthrough stars to come out of the Premier League last season and he already looks like one to watch this year with a goal off the bench in Brighton’s opening fixture against Luton.

Although he is mainly featuring as an impact substitute for Brighton at the moment, many clubs around the country have set their sights on the 18-year-old with Arsenal leading the list of interested parties.

The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Ferguson next summer, with Brighton’s £100m valuation of their superstar no issue for Arsenal who spent a similar fee on bringing Declan Rice to the Emirates this season.

Ferguson has scored seven Premier League goals in 22 appearances for Brighton so far, with six of those coming last year during his breakthrough campaign under Roberto De Zerbi.

Arsenal’s current striking options are extremely limited, with Gabriel Jesus yet again facing time on the treatment table for a knee injury he picked up just before the season began.

In the absence of Jesus Eddie Nketiah has taken over and the 24-year-old looked sharp in the Gunners first game of the season, scoring against Nottingham Forest in a 2-1 win.

Mikel Arteta also has Folarin Balogun at his disposal, but the USMNT star could be making a move away from Arsenal befrero the transfer window closes in the search for more regular game time.

Ferguson’s contract at Brighton doesn’t expire until 2028, so Arsenal could be forced to pay in excess of £100m for the Irishman if they look to make a deal next summer.
