Arsenal kept the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with a 4-0 win away at Bournemouth, continuing their unbeaten start to the season across all competitions.

Bukayo Saka bagged his fourth goal of the campaign after 17 minutes to open the scoring, finding himself in the right place at the right time to nod home from close range after Gabriel Jesus’ header rebounded off the woodwork.

The visitors doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time thanks to Martin Odegaard’s successful spot-kick. Arsenal looked in control throughout the encounter and it was another dominating performance from Mikel Arteta’s side.

Kai Havertz recorded his first goal for the club with another penalty eight minutes into the second period, which will mean a great deal to the German who has struggled to find form since his move across London from Chelsea.

Ben White put the cherry on top of a fantastic day for Arsenal by heading home from Odegaard’s free-kick delivery in the depths of stoppage time to score his first goal since April.

The win leaves the Gunners in second place in the Premier League table, one point adrift leaders Manchester City who fell to a surprise defeat on the road against Wolves.

According to Premier League betting sites, Arsenal remain third-favourites to eclipse a 20-year wait and secure their first title in the English top-flight since the famous Invincibles.

In seven outings so far, Arteta has guided the north Londoners to five wins, two draws and no losses. They also began their Champions League campaign in style with a 4-0 win over PSV.

It was a busy summer for the club, bringing in Declan Rice from West Ham alongside Havertz and goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford, who looks to have fully replaced Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks and earned his third clean sheet today in four appearances.

Arsenal are in a good position to start the season and fans have every right to be optimistic about the team’s chances of glory in May.
