Sportslens are on hand with the latest Arsenal FC injury news as the Gunners turn their attention towards their title run-in, and manager Mikel Arteta may be without several key starters this weekend.

Relegation-threatened Leeds represent the latest test for Arsenal as Premier League football resumes this week, but the fixture may come too soon for a number of players.

Perhaps the most notable absentee could be William Saliba, whose return date remains an unsettling mystery for Gunners fans. The Frenchman was ruled out of their 4-1 drubbing of Crystal Palace last time out after picking up a back injury against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League, and very little information has been provided on his current fitness.

An update will likely be given as he his assessed throughout the week, but a much-needed rest over the international break may have helped to accelerate his recovery.

Elsewhere, Thomas Partey sat out Ghana’s AFCON qualifier against Angola on Monday, having played the reverse fixture last Thursday. Manager Chris Houghton admitted his role as an unused substitute was precautionary, although it was confirmed he had suffered a slight knock.

Interestingly, the club sent a dedicated physio on international duty with the midfielder in order to keep tabs on his workload, and ensure one of their standout performers this season doesn’t miss any more action at a pivotal moment.

It would also seem Gabriel Jesus’ return to action could not have come at a better time, with Eddie Nketiah still nursing a niggling ankle injury. The Hale End product is nearing full fitness according to reports, but this weekend’s meeting with Leeds will come too soon with Arteta confirming he is “still a few weeks away and we need to be patient.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny remain long-term absentees and will not feature again this season after both picking up serious knee injuries.
