Everton have completed the signing of Dutch forward Arnaut Danjuma from Villareal on a season-long deal after almost joining the side in January.

Arnaut Danjuma Completes Everton Loan Move

Danjuma joins Everton after almost signing for the club in January. The Netherlands international agreed terms with the Toffees earlier this year, but he ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur who hijacked the deal late on in the window.

He made nine appearances for Spurs before returning back to Spain at the end of the season. Only scoring one league goal for the club, Danjuma failed to make a lasting impression in North London.

The 26-year-old chose not to join the Merseyside club in January because he was uncertain on the managerial situation. However, he now finally joins the club on a season-long loan.

Danjuma becomes Everton’s second summer signing after Ashley Young as the Blues bid to avoid another relegation dog fight. They left it late to survive last season when they beat Bournemouth on the final day, meaning they would remain in the Premier League for at least another season.

The Dutchman was speaking to the club following his move.

“I think it makes it even more beautiful for me to join now,” Danjuma said.

“I had interest from other clubs but there was a pull towards Everton because of the fans, the manager and the history of the club.

“It is second time lucky for me.”
