The two-time heavyweight champion recently fell Robert Helenius – who stood in for Dillain Whyte –  with a seventh-round knockout to continue his quest back into title contention.

IBF has ruled that the winner of Usyk-Fury must immediately face its mandatory challenger, Filip Hrgovic, which changes things for Joshua whose expected next fight was slated to be Deontay Wilder.

In the meantime, Joshua has been preparing for this weekend’s billing, with the biggest date in influencer boxing yet scheduled for Saturday night.

After to speaking to DAZN Boxing, we were blessed with his KSI vs Tommy Fury prediction, but he did admit he is struggling to split the two.

He said: “Tommy Fury vs KSI, it’s a real 50/50 fight.

“I would sway towards KSI, but then if I value experience, I think Tommy should pull it off because he’s coming from a fighting family, but KSI’s been banging people out though.”

Joshua added that KSI has proven his worth against previous opponents, citing his fellow business partner Logan Paul – who will feature on Saturday’s other ‘double main event’ against Dillon Danis – as one of his toughest challengers.

“He beat Logan Paul who’s big and strong, went the rounds with [Floyd] Mayweather as well, Logan did.”

He did however reiterate his point about the fight potentially going either way, adding, “it’s a real 50/50 fight, for this one I’m sitting on the fence.”

Fury is the obvious favourite according to bookmakers, given he has genuine professional experience and has trained his entire life as a boxer. However, Joshua seems to think KSI – who knocked out his most recent opponent Joe Fournier in his second victory of 2023 – has the necessary power to rock Fury.

The social media star-turned-boxer himself said today that he believes he can go toe-to-toe with the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.
