Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga has reportedly completed a medical at Nottingham Forest this afternoon ahead of his proposed £15million transfer.

Anthony Elanga has reportedly sealed a permanent move to Nottingham Forest from Manchester United for a fee in the region of £15million.

The Swedish international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for the majority of the transfer window, and now after completing a medical at the City Ground – his move is set expected to be announced imminently.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that after completing his medical, the forward will now put pen-to-paper on a contract with Midlands-club, with the move now a done deal.

“Anthony Elanga has already completed medical tests and will sign contract as Nottingham Forest player today.” Romano tweeted.

“Done, sealed. Here we go confirmed.”

Elanga becomes Forest’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Ola Aina from Torino on a free transfer.

The prospect of a front four of Elanga, Morgan Gibbs-White, Brennan Johnson and Taiwo Awoniyi is one that will excite Reds fans, as they prepare for their second successive season in the Premier League.

Everton and RB Leipzig had previously expressed interest in Elanga, but a move to the City Ground was clearly the preferred option for the 21-year-old.

Having joined United in 2014, Elanga’s gametime at senior level has been very inconsistent, and has drastically decreased since the arrival of Erik ten Hag.

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho have all been preferred to the Swede, who was reportedly left frustrated by his lack of opportunities under the Dutch boss.

Thriving at international level, a fresh start under Steve Cooper may be exactly what he needs in order to get his career at club level back on track.
