Juventus star, Angel Di Maria, has revealed his commitment to the Serie A side with talks over a contract renewal progressing.

The former Real Madrid winger as admired as one of the best players in the world in past years, with a Man Of The Match performance in the 2014 Champions League final.

However, after an unsuccessful move to Manchester United, the Argentine failed to find those same lofty heights. His time in England lasted only one season, before signing for PSG and helped the Parisian side to their first UCL final in 2020.

Swapping Paris for Turin, Di Maria moved to Juventus last summer and has had a steady spell in Italy so far. Making 34 appearances in all competitions, the 35-year-old has contributed with eight goals and seven assists.

Due to the Argentina international coming towards the end of his career, his deal in Italy is set to expire at the end of the season. However, due to his consistent performances the Old Lady are keen to extend his deal and the winger has revealed his commitment to Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

The former Madrid star said: “My future at Juventus? I feel very comfortable here, my family is also very comfortable. We are talking on contract renewal and we’ll see what happens. I’m in a very good shape.”

Juventus look likely to finish in the top four, after Serie A reversed the club’s 15-point deduction following further investigation. This may be key in keeping Di Maria in Europe, as he looks to play in the Champions League once again.

Rumours circulating over a move back to Argentina have started to circulate, especially after the South American nation’s World Cup triumph. However, after the 35-year-old’s recent statements that may be postponed for another season.

A renewed contract is still yet to be agreed, however, with both parties looking keen to finalise the deal, we are likely to see Di Maria in Turin for one more year.
