SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley was still catching his breath following the game, but he commented on the odds, saying: “Andre Onana can count himself lucky that Scott McTominay is a world-class finisher.

“In all seriousness though, the Manchester United goalkeeper’s confidence appears to be rock-bottom. For a shot-stopper who was being billed as one of the best ball-players in the world, this might have been his sloppiest performance yet.

“Loose passes. Opting to go long more often than not. Scared to play out from the back. That not to mention Brentford’s goal, which he almost certainly should’ve saved as it trickled into the middle of the goal.

“Back-up keeper Altay Bayindir – who was also signed in the summer alongside Onana – is patiently waiting in the wings for his chance. He may well be handed the opportunity should Onana continue on his current path, with our exclusive odds now 2/1 for him to be dropped against Sheffield in a fortnight.

“Some fans have even suggested the club should backtrack on their decision to let David De Gea’s contract run out, with the Spaniard 4/1 to make a return this winter.”
