Alexis Mac Allister bid an emotional goodbye to the Brighton fans after their last game. It’s a question of when rather than if for him leaving and now his cousin has dropped a big hint.
World Cup winner Mac Allister has been another standout player from Brighton this season. His performances for club and country have led to speculation he’s moving onto bigger things.
The frontrunners throughout this time have been Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Despite Brighton qualifying for Europa League like Liverpool, a move to Anfield is seen as a big step-up.
In a recent interview, Mac Allister’s cousin gave a big hint that the move is almost done. A fellow professional, Luciano Guaycochea said:
“I cannot say where he’s going to play but everyone knows the Liverpool deal is close.
“It’s a big team. But anywhere he goes, I hope that he can play well.”
After speaking Guaycochea was asked if we’d see Mac Allister in the red of Liverpool. Guaycochea smirked but didn’t answer, leaving many to believe the move is almost complete.
When Will Mac Allister Move To Liverpool?
The transfer window opens on the 14th of June for Premier League clubs. This means any move won’t become official until that date.
However, there’s lots of work going on in the background. Both parties will be locked in negotiations over the next few days. This will also include the player’s representatives and Liverpool’s representatives.
Brighton are known for bringing players in cheap and selling them on for big money. Despite the desire from fans to want to keep their star players, Brighton will stick to their game plan and continue to bleed in young players.
